GG.Com Camp !!!

This is the story of my PKA GG Family camp in Stella Maris from 1^st March to 3^rd March.

Around 4.30pm, everyone needs to gather at RST guard house. Around 4.50pm, the bus arrived and picked us up, then we started our bus journey to Tanjung Bunga. 5.20pm, we reached there, Stella Maris, a tall building with a huge area too.

Dinner time, the food looks awesome. I ate 2 drumsticks, but I saw Derek Ooi ate more than 2, maybe 3-5? After dinner, we started our first section is “high” praise and worship. Cool man, we sang a lot of songs, we used our voices, shouted to the Lord. Before we start our “word”, we reflect what we did in the past semester, how I overcome my difficulties, what I like to thank God for. After this, our group gather together and discuss about our Cheers. I’m glad I’m in “Chevy” group, and our cheers is so simple, we just say “ARE YOU READY, “CHENVY!” YES… Around 11pm, everyone is “forced” to go back to our room to rest. But, I know that I sure won’t sleep so early. I went in to Derek’s room and pillow chat with them, which are Derek, Daniel Lim and Daniel Teoh. The Daniel Teoh is funny and shared a lot of stories to us. His mind are matured enough, maybe because he studying law. I still remember 1 phrase he had mention to us, we all laugh until wants to DIE, especially Derek. This phrase are:

“Older man is just like Vine, older woman is just like milk.” Vine will last long, while milk doesn’t.

The next morning, we have to wake up early at 6.30pm, we started our first activity is call “prayer station”. There a total 5 stations, “prayer for CF; prayer for family members; prayer for thanksgiving; prayer for myself and prayer for others” respectively. I experience a very nice moment with God on that moment, I feel God wants me to do something through him. Next, we do morning devotion together in group. Around 8.30am, we have our Roti Canai as breakfast. At first, I thought I only can eat 1 piece of Roti Canai, manatao… I ate 3… After breakfast, I tried to play this instrument that I wish to play long time ago – Cajon.

YEAH! It’s AWESOME fun! I wish I could play this during P&W session.

Next, our first “word” session by Mr.Goh – Christian life-Living it out. I can’t expect that this Mr.Goh, our beloved invited speaker is already a 66 years old old man. Wow, INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC, AWESOME, an old man still doing youth ministry. I feel bless by him, because I saw his energetic, the passion of serving the youths. The first word that he touched me is, “your quite time should not be awake by alarm.” It means I have must the initiative to seek God, to be quite alone for some time. Not by the external conditions that make me remember to seek God, I must trained to be more disciplines to build relationship with God through his word. In order to release the light of Christ, we need to be good student of God’s word. If not, don’t talk about worship, don’t talk about serving, don’t talk about sharing the Gospel. 

Session 2 of word – Christian as a community. As a Christian, we need to know how to care our friends around us. We live as a community, we need to love each and other, just like what did the Bible says so.  During the sharing session, I share my first impression in PKA. It is so comfortable to stay at PKA to learn God’s word, build relationship among us, and share love to public, especially “Bless Campus”. It is an awesome experience that I learn a lot there, and share God’s love there.

Around 2.30pm, everyone were excited with the games session. LOLX… I still remember got 1 games conducted by Tze Shaun, the cans and the spaghetti. That time, my partner, Rowena and I need to use a spaghetti stick to carry up a can, and then walk for a certain distance. In order to let me focus, avoid laugh, so I closed my eyes. MANATAO, Tze Shaun still laughed at me, because my weird and stupid action are annoying, and the funny thing is I walked to the wrong direction. After games, we enjoy playing captain ball. YEAH…

Don’t know why, camp comes to an end, the dinner is always the best meal. Delicious…

The first time I’m the backup singer for the P&W, thanks to Debra inviting me.

Session 3 of word – Deal with it, enjoy Jesus Christ. Here, I can see his passion towards Jesus Christ, his life experience God and keep telling us how he encounter God. So, I must learn from him, always have passion in Jesus Christ, love him just like u love you lovers. J

After that, I spend a little time to write some encouragement words to my fellow PKA members. It seems I wrote a lot and thanks them for being part of my university life. During the late night, we spend time together chatting, playing card games, and most memorable is to do MUS together. MUS stand for “moral uplifting society”. Here we share positive things to each and other. When it’s me, I received a lot of people say I’m an outgoing, involved, fun, easy going people. Hmm… Looks like I’m the person who can easily interact with each and other, is a good follow-uper. Thanks to them. J

What they wrote for me, and I wrote for them. 

So memorable ...

The next day, early in the morning, I woke up for the prayer meeting, after that, I went back to sleep and I skipped the morning devotion. Opps… During P&W, Benedict is a very good song leader, he lead us dance some simple moves, very easy and interesting. I enjoyed a lot, I hope one day I will be on the stage, lead them dancing to praise lord. Later on, our last word from Mr.Goh – Being salmon. Here, he reminds me the importance of being a salmon, to share the Gospel.

Times flies very fast, we took a lot of group pictures and someone just said that our T-shirt looks like Football team when we took the group pictures. AWESOME…

First year student ~ YEAH ...

In sum, I experience a lot and know a lot of new friends there. I also learn a simple thanksgiving prayer for food, thanks to Nicolas. The prayer is:

“Whatever u call, I follow, whatever u eat I swallow, whatever u meet I fellow, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Enjoyed la… The most important thing is, this camp help me to reflect myself in the past semester, and start our journey again with God all the time during my this new semester. I miss CAMP so much … J
